The Inuulitsivik Health Centre (IHC) is dedicated to providing quality health and social services to the Nunavimmiut living in the seven communities along the Hudson Bay coast. Our needs are great this summer, with many births expected, and every midwife can make a real difference for families.

Employment Conditions - Midwife trainee - Nunavik (Hudson Bay Coast Villages) Salary:



$28.65

per hour

Northern premiums and other employment conditions:



Isolation allowance (

) between $227.69 and $268.59 per week, depending on the village Isolation allowance (

with dependents

) between $401.36 and $473.51 per week, depending on the village Cost of living allowance: Between $58.40 and $188.72 per week, depending on the village.

Main Responsibilities - Midwife trainee - Nunavik (Hudson Bay Coast Villages)



The training will take place in the Maternity and will take 4 to 5 years during which time there will be weekly classes and hands on experience with the team of Midwives and other student Midwives. The Midwife trainee will be part of the Maternity team and will participate in the prenatal and post natal care of women and babies in the community. She will attend births and be on call in rotation with the other Midwives

.

Able to deal with sometimes working long hours and being on call when requested Available nights and weekends when on call. Fully supported by family and friends Really interested in becoming a midwife Good at working independently Able to have a lifelong commitment to an interesting and exciting career Fluent in

english (spoken and written)

Fluent in

Inuktitut (an asset)
