Job Description


The Centre for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (CQuIPS) is seeking a temporary Full Time Research Assistant to join our team and assist with a broad range of Centre-based research initiatives. The successful candidate will have strong qualitative research skills and experience with knowledge synthesis research. They will have the opportunity to work with an interdisciplinary group of researchers and clinicians committed to advancing healthcare improvement science and practice. We are looking for a motivated individual with a desire to grow their skills and knowledge, who will contribute to growing our research program.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of Research Ethics applications and renewals
  • Assisting with grant applications and reports
  • Scheduling research team meetings, preparing materials and agendas and producing and distributing minutes.
  • Project management support including overseeing study timelines and deliverables.
  • Assisting with ongoing CQuIPS research projects
  • Conducting qualitative interviews and facilitating focus groups
  • Coding qualitative transcripts
  • Assisting in the analysis and interpretation of qualitative data
  • Setting up evidence synthesis projects
  • Accessing literature for evidence synthesis
  • Supporting manuscript preparation and submission
Skills and Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a health or social science related field, or successful completion of a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a health or social science related field with superior demonstrated research experience and skills.
  • Minimum of two years of experience with qualitative healthcare research (conducting qualitative research interviews and/or focus groups, coding and analyzing qualitative data).
  • Previous experience collaborating on scoping or systematic reviews an asset.
  • Demonstration of strong teamwork skills and ability to provide assistance to support research team members.
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Time management skills to manage and prioritize workload and timelines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (experience with protocol development, grant writing, manuscript development, poster and abstract development an asset.)
  • Demonstration of a growth mindset, flexibility, and the desire to learn new skills.
  • Understanding of ethics and regulatory research requirements
