Community Living St. Catharines (CLSC) is a dynamic and innovative non-profit social service agency providing services and supports to people who have an intellectual disability. Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Human Resources, the incumbent will provide support for the development, implementation, and administration of the agency\xe2\x80\x99s human resources. Responsibilities will include: health and safety, recruitment and selection, agency training, and administration support. We are seeking one Summer Student to work June-August and the position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant. Responsibilities:
Assist with administrative duties including preparing documents and phone calls, filing, and data entry.
Updating, and filing of HR records
Assist in various Health & Safety projects
Develop and update orientation and training content as needed
Assist with recruitment including pre-screening, interviewing, completing reference checks, etc.
Develop and/or update HR spreadsheets
Research, recommend and assist in revision of policy development
Complete general HR duties in the HR department as needed
Maintain a safe healthy working environment
Qualifications:
Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
Legally entitled to work according to provincial legislation and regulations
Interest in supporting adults who have intellectual disabilities
Interest in Human Resources Management in a not for profit setting
Other Requirements:
Satisfactory Police Clearance (18 years and older)
Completed or currently enrolled in one of the following post-secondary program: Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Health and Safety is an asset
Completion of Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Training (links accessed through www.clstcatharines.ca under \xe2\x80\x9cJob Opportunities\xe2\x80\x9d).
