Position Summary




Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed permanent full time Human Resources Assistant to support the Human Resources department.

Aligned with Northern Health\xe2\x80\x99s strategic plan, and in accordance with the organizations vision and values, the Human Resources Assistant, Operational Support works collaboratively and proactively with leaders of the assigned portfolio to assist in the completion of human resource and other management functions. The position is responsible to track education requirements for staff and assists leaders to ensure completion in compliance with regulatory, legislative, and organizational requirements. The Assistant monitors, tracks, and reports on human resource metrics, including employee attendance, workforce demographics, overtime, and vacancies; assists in ensuring accuracy of data by maintaining position level detail in collaboration with leaders, Finance and Human Resources

The role assists Regional departments in recognizing opportunities that will ensure consistency, collaboration and increased efficiency in the delivery of services to Northern Health leadership teams. The incumbent contributes to a welcoming, diverse, and psychologically safe work environment by establishing respectful relationships, modelling expected behavior, addressing situations where NH values are not demonstrated and assisting others to do the same.

Starting salary will be approximately from $52,156 to $65,195 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions

University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) is the largest acute care facility (268 beds) in Northern Health and is the hub for specialized health services. It is a full service hospital and home to a new cancer centre for Northern BC, including a wide range of cancer treatments. Provides undergraduate physician training through the Northern Medical Program, run by the University of British Columbia and University of Northern British Columbia. UHNBC is also a key clinical education site for nursing and many health sciences students at UNBC, the College of New Caledonia, BCIT and other institutions.

Qualifications



Diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a relevant discipline.
Two (2) to three (3) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience including human resources experience.
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
