$16.00 to $25.52 per hour (Salary to be determined at the time of the hire and is based on the current academic level of the student.) Experience Canada by joining the Parks Canada Agency!   • registered as a full time or part-time secondary or post secondary student in an accredited academic program; or

This process is an inventory. We will be pulling a first round of candidates for the 2023 operational season on February 1st. Interviews will be conducted 14th to the 28th of February. Should there be vacancies later in the operational season, we will continue to pull from the list.

Duties


SU-01 Visitor Service Attendants
Working as part of the Visitor Experience team, you will provide front line services to visitors. You will help organize, promote and execute special events and programs, share park stories and themes and assist in duties at visitor services facilities and day-use areas acting as park ambassadors.
  • Welcoming, orienting and informing visitors of the significance and themes of the site as well as its facilities. Collecting camping fees and performing other miscellaneous duties.
  • Providing custodial duties and security services. Responding to telephone inquiries.
  • Performing end of day procedures with regards to revenue collection and deposit.

SU-02 Ambassadors
  • Greeting and orienting visitors; delivering reception, orientation, public safety, compliance, and interpretive messages.
  • Roving and promoting programs, events, and facilities.
  • Delivering key messages (including prevention and safety messages) about the site in a positive way.
  • Assisting with special events programming.

SU-03 Mi\xe2\x80\x99kmaw Cultural Interpretation Assistant
Working as part of the Visitor Experience team with focus on delivery of Mi\xe2\x80\x99kmaw cultural interpretation programming, you will help to provide engaging and educational experiences for visitors. Specific duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Assisting Parks Canada staff in the delivery of interpretive hikes, paddles, petroglyph tours, theatrical programs, astronomy programs, puppet shows, encampment programs, and other programs and special activities/events.
  • Providing visitors with opportunities to discover, appreciate, learn about, and enjoy the place and its natural and cultural wonders and understand its significance to Canada.
  • Assisting with program preparations and clean-up and logistics.

SU-04 Product Development Assistant
  • Assisting with the planning, development, and evaluation of both new and existing visitor experience products.
  • Working with the Product Development Officer, partners, and/or volunteers to plan and deliver special events.

Conditions of employment


Reliability Status security clearance - A security status screening is undertaken by Parks Canada for candidates who are successful in the competition.
