Part of the LCI Education network, LaSalle College is the largest bilingual college in North America. It is comprised of six specialized schools, including Fashion, Arts and Design; VFX and Video Games; Human Sciences and Technology; Management and Technology; and Hospitality and Tourism, as well as an online training school, and offers more than 60 programs related to these schools.

Under the supervision of the School Director, the incumbent is responsible for the relationship with the students of the college. The incumbent meets with and informs students of the programs in order to inform and advise them on their academic path, the services and activities of the College.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Guidance and counselling

  • Advise students on programs and their academic progress;
  • Act as a resource person for students regarding integration or learning difficulties, intervene in case of disputes and handle complaints;
  • In collaboration with the College, ensure administrative follow-up of learning difficulties as well as support, motivation and academic perseverance;
  • Advise students and produce registration authorizations (sponsorship);
  • Analyze pathways, make plans and meet with students in order to explain the issues at stake, whether in the case of regular or atypical pathways or when they are in a technical refusal situation (RT);
  • Manage cases of irregular or repetitive RT, submit the recommendation to the program coordination for approval;
  • Manage disciplinary or dispute cases with students or faculty and collaborate with School leadership in the resolution of more complex management situations;
  • Ensure the implementation of the success plan, compliance with policies, procedures, regulations in force, including the PIEA, admission regulations as well as various rules of conduct required of students.
Contracts & Compliance
  • Generate contracts for educational services as required by students;
  • Supervise the follow-up of study permits and Quebec acceptance certificates by the administration technician;
  • Ensure proper functioning of client statements and validate data integrity;
  • Ensure the renewal of annual contracts during the re-enrollment period.
Schedules & school records
  • Supervise the preparation of student schedules at the beginning of the school year;
  • Informs and advises students on their academic records and, when required, directs them to the appropriate services (registration, schedule modification, change of program or language of instruction, cancellation, etc.);
  • Complete the analyses for the recognition of prior learning, advise students in their process and liaise with stakeholders.
Administration
  • Create, implement and ensure compliance with student administrative processes and procedures;
  • Respond to requests from other departments regarding student files and ensure follow-up.
  • Participate in the administrative and technical organization of events;
  • Participate in meetings of the student coordination committee.
Welcome and departure
  • Participate in the organization and implementation of the pre-entry and welcome sessions for new students;
  • Perform administrative processing of student departures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in team coordination with customer service.
  • Have a DEC in a related field.
  • Beyond the basic requirements, you will enjoy this position if you enjoy dealing with students and are committed to their success and college life. Communication skills and an appreciation for teamwork are also essential to this position.
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
  • Excellent oral and written skills in French and English;
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT);
  • Structured, rigorous and detail-oriented;
  • Have the spirit of initiative;
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
