We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario!About ART Engineering Inc.: Established in 2004, ART Engineering Inc. [AEI] is a multi-disciplinary structural engineering consulting firm located in Ottawa, with branch offices in Kingston and Milton, Ontario. AEI provides a wide variety of engineering services to its clients Canada wide, ranging from residential and commercial applications, to industrial and heavy civil construction projects. We are a dynamic group of young, energetic engineers in a fast-paced and constantly growing company.Responsibilities / Duties: - Perform structural analysis and design for new and existing structures- Draft structural drawings and write technical reports- Carry out site inspections and field reviews- Correspond / communicate with contractors and clientsSkills / Attributes: - Bachelor of Civil / Structural Engineering from an accredited university- Problem solving and creativity (comfort with ambiguity is essential)- Inquisitive nature; thrives on learning and advancing engineering knowledge- Good multitasking and prioritization abilities; comfortable in a fast-paced and changing environment- Great written and verbal English communication skills, and technical writing skills (French is an asset)- Good understanding of structural analysis and solid mechanics- Working knowledge of the NBCC / OBC (knowledge of the CHBDC is an asset)- Working knowledge of building materials, construction techniques and relevant CSA codes(particularly: wood, steel, concrete, masonry, cold-formed steel, aluminum, FRP. Knowledge of other new / innovative materials is an asset.)- Valid Canadian Driver's License and personal vehicle required.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per yearSchedule:
