Job Description

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This Structural Engineer will utilize his/her theoretical knowledge and background in Civil & Environmental Engineering, in this position of Structural Engineer for our company. His/Her job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, as follows:

  • Perform structural computations using SAP, ETABS, ADAPT, RAM Concept, RAM Structural System, SAFE, RISA, and in-house proprietary software for the design and analysis of concrete, steel, or other miscellaneous structures;
  • Create analysis models and interpreting results for 2D and 3D structural frames leveraging digital workflows for interoperability and the Walter P Moore Engineers' Central Interoperability Database to develop data-rich 3D models and 2D documentation using tools such as Revit, and Rhino;
  • Develop new tools for analysis and design using Python, VBA, and individual software APIs;
  • Rationalize and document complex structural geometry using Rhino and visual programming tool Grasshopper and related plugins;
  • Assist with construction administration tasks, including site visits where field observation reports will be created to document field conditions using a mobile device;
  • Clear understanding of load paths for gravity and lateral loads and calculate applicable loads based on appropriate local building codes;
  • Assist with design drawings, quantities, cost estimates, reports, and other project deliverables while working with the structures team;
  • Prepare technical studies and reports documenting the technical engineering work done on our projects including comprehensive structural calculations, technical graphics and sketches, and detailed descriptions of structural systems;
  • Understand member and frame stiffnesses for vertical and lateral loading and determining member deflections, and frame interstory drifts as applicable;
  • Design structural members and connections in compliance with the requirements of relevant building codes and standards; and
  • Collaborate with architects and other engineering consultants to develop structural framing solutions which are compatible with the other building systems.
WAGE: CAD 82,000.00 to 100,000.00 per annum based on a 40-hour work week. Eligibility for annual salary increase and performance-based bonus.BENEFITS:

LOCATION(s) OF WORK: 5700 Yonge St, Suite 200 North York, ON M2M 4K2EDUCATION: Master's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural EngineeringEXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 4 years experience as a Structural Engineer;
  • Demonstrated experience with Revit, Bluebeam, Rhino, and Grasshopper programs;
  • Proven knowledge of engineering software's SAP, ETABS, and ADAPT;
  • Sound understanding of design engineering codes and technical standards;
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; and
  • Strong organizational skills.
Job Type: Full-timePay: $82,000.00-$100,000.00 per yearSchedule:
