Your Impact:

We are looking for a Structural Designer in our Burnaby, BC office to prepare detailed reinforced concrete drawings and participate in the development of design concepts, creating models from scratch and coordinating designs for various structural projects, including water /wastewater treatment, pumping stations, transportation, institutional, commercial and industrial facilities.

In this role youll work closely with engineers and designers on development of engineering drawings and construction documents, and will convey structural requirements to the construction team through traditional 2D paper deliverables and /or BIM 3D Revit models. Youll coordinate the drawing work with the designer team, assisting in assigning work, balancing workloads, monitoring progress towards deadlines, and ensuring quality standards are met.

Youll be working mainly from home (unless you prefer coming into the office), with the expectation to travel for client /site meetings and occasional team meetings. Heres What Youll Need:

• 8+ years of design experience for projects including water/wastewater treatment, pumping stations, and conveyance systems.

• Perform drafting using AutoCAD and Revit to develop structural (and civil) drawings.

• Experience working with Metro Vancouver and other local municipalities is an asset.

• Knowledge of seismic detailing provisions of the BC Building Code

• Knowledge and demonstrated experience with engineering principles, codes and standards for the design of steel, concrete, masonry and timber structures.
