Purpose:

We are currently looking for a Principal Structural Designer to join our team in Edmonton.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D models in E3D for structural steel, foundations and piles based on engineering information, site data, and customer requirements for various structures including pipe-racks and pipe supports, buildings, platforms, modules, equipment supports etc.
  • Prepare 2D drawings (cut from 3D model or draft) including general arrangement, plans sections and details for structural steel and foundations.
  • Prepare structural Material Take-offs.
  • Review shop drawings
  • Conduct 3D model reviews and perform clash check.
  • Incorporate laser scan data and survey data into 3D model to identify interferences between new and existing structures.
  • Coordinate with, supervise, guide and mentor junior and intermediate designers, may exercise guidance and instruction over a number of designers.
  • Coordinate with and gather information from other disciplines, with knowledge of the impact of other disciplines design data on structural design.
  • Actively work with the workshare offices, where appropriate, assign tasks and supervise progress; and ensure the required services meet Worley, its Customers\xe2\x80\x99 and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.
  • Assist in the development and management of deliverable estimate, design schedule, progress and budget.
  • Communicate effectively with the engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
  • Perform self-check and checking of other\xe2\x80\x99s deliverables.
  • Perform site visits for design verification.
Qualifications

Technical and Industry Experience
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in Energy, Chemical and Resource projects.
  • Proficient in the use of: Aveva E3D, CADWorx, ProSteel, AutoCAD, PDS Frameworks Plus, MicroStation, Smart3D, 3D modelling experience an absolute must.
Education \xe2\x80\x93 Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
  • A diploma in Engineering design and drafting or equivalent.
