Job Description


The Pricing Strategy Manager leads the development of strategic pricing initiatives including the creation of price-pack strategies across our brands, new item pricing & other strategic initiatives. This high-visibility, cross-functional role will oversee work across our stable of world famous brands (M&M\xe2\x80\x99s, Snickers, Twix, Skittles, Starburst, Juicy Fruit, etc.) that drives strategic revenue management into the market-place in-line with the overall business strategy.

The Pricing Strategy Manager, as part of the broader Strategic Revenue Management (SRM) group, will also develop and embed insights that inform our overarching confectionery strategy, operationalize the pricing strategy in the marketplace and ensure the continued development of pricing & strategy as a capability at Mars Wrigley Confectionery.

What are we looking for?

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required with experience in FMCG/Consumer Products industry in demand/support function (Marketing, Sales, Finance, Revenue Management).

Pricing and/or Strategy Background (Preferred) \xe2\x80\x93 An understanding of the essentials of pricing \xe2\x80\x93 price elasticity, thresholds, price-pack architecture & retailer economics. Demonstrated ability to lead strategic work streams, making essential trade-offs and driving cross-functional alignment.

Experience using complicated and diverse data sets to aid decision making. The ability to use this information to reach insightful conclusions and create robust recommendations (\xe2\x80\x98So What\xe2\x80\x99) and present outputs in an informative way.

Understanding of the commercial P&L, including how diverse inputs may impact.

Able to build successful working relationships and lead cross functional teams through critical strategic conversations.

Able to effectively articulate and convey ideas and thoughts in a simple and effective manner. Not afraid to stand alone within a peer group or challenge senior leadership.

Systems knowledge of syndicated data services such as Nielsen or IRI

Price & Promotional Tools (Helpful) - Knowledge and experience using analytical models and price-promotion systems to inform accurate price strategy creation, robust in-market scenario planning and drive in-market action.

What would be your responsibilities?

Design price-pack architectures across our portfolio that are appropriately married with quantitatively established value corridors, brand & retail insights;

Lead the organization\xe2\x80\x99s growing eco-system of pricing insights & analytics to ensure organizational revenue management excellence;

Provide analytical & strategic support to the Pricing Strategy Lead

Drive strategic revenue management as a core organizational capability by helping embed core principles into the business;

Work closely with Marketing, Customer Marketing, Sales Finance and Category Development to facilitate sharing of pricing best practices and embed strategic revenue management agenda.
