Unity(tm) Lab Services is a business segment that supports the Customer Channels Group, which provides critical outsourced on-site services at customer locations.
This position is in Mississauga, ON.

Discover Impactful Work: This role will support the warehousing operation and distribution activities within our Mississauga site, serving domestic/international customers and field service engineers with analytical instruments, spare parts and consumables A Day in the Life:

• Perform inbound material handling processes required to receive and store products
• Outbound order picking, packing, inspection and shipment documentation to ensure accurate delivery and an exceptional customer experience
• Coordinate inbound/outbound shipments with transportation partners
• Perform required warehouse tasks such as equipment maintenance, temperature control monitoring and housekeeping requirements as directed by Manager.
• Ability to operate the equipment to complete warehouses processes (Pallet jack, Forklift).
• Willingness to learn various aspects of warehouse operations and responsibilities
• Willingness to seek out assistance from colleagues to resolve warehouse/customer related issues, with a positive and collaborative approach in supporting customers and department objectives.
• Populate data for Tier 1 accountability metrics and be willing to contribute to Team meetings
• Perform daily/weekly/monthly inventory Cycle Count according to company guidelines
• Work collaboratively with warehouse and office staff to action any inventory related requests (Stock Checks, Warehouse Receiving/Picking errors etc.)
• Monitor daily inventory reports and troubleshoot discrepancies between stock and system records (WMS/Host comparison report, Expired Goods report, Bin Short report).
• Conduct safety and accident readiness training, following Thermo Fisher Scientific health and safety policies and procedures. Bring potential safety issues to the attention of the warehouse Team leader
• Conduct dangerous goods training for the safe handling and distribution of hazardous products
• Communicate with customs brokers regarding import and export activities

How will you get there? Education:

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience will be considered.

Experience:

• At least 4 years warehousing experience
• Forklift reach truck license (preferable – Training can be provided)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Able to lift or lower goods up to 50lbs. to or from waist level
• Basic computer and MS Office skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem solving and great attention to detail
• Basic Inventory Control procedures
• Extremely organized
• Ability to develop strong working relationships with staff, including other departments (Supply Chain, Regulatory and Customer Service).
• Motivated, willing to learn and able to work independently
• Flexible with hours of work and with assignment of tasks as rotation.
• Very Team oriented
