Our Last Mile technology division builds software solutions that work across our vendors, delivery stations and carriers to optimize both time & cost of getting packages into the hands of our customers. With rapid expansion into new geographies, unique delivery models for products ranging from Fresh groceries to big-screen TV's, and growing number of shipments worldwide, we will need innovative solutions to scale our software to meet these opportunities.

The Amazon Logistics Last Mile Planning Technology team is building solutions that directly and immediately impact our community on a daily basis. We are building the next generation planning system to plan and execute deliver of millions of packages per day. As a Software Development Engineer on the Amazon Logistics Last Mile Planning Technology team, your software and services will deliver solutions that will manage the workflows, storage, and calculations for demand and capacity plans that will allow us to improve customer experience. You will provide technical leadership, architectural guidance and mentorship cross-functionally to implement the next generation of planning, and be a key driver on the team's technical and operational excellence. Our engineers actively listen to customers, work as a team, and proactively solve problems .

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4+ years of professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 2+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering team
  • Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, C#, Python including object-oriented design
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with Data Modeling, Data Analysis, Web Architecture, Cloud Architecture
  • Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills (Java/Python/JavaScript)
  • Strong in Python
