Sr. Media Relations Advisor Number of positions: 1 Job Location: Dunsmuir 15 Employment type: Temporary Region: Lower Mainland Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Hybrid Annual salary: $ 103,900.00 - 131,400.00 What you\'ll do
This role is a part of BC Hydro\xe2\x80\x99s Media Relations and Issues Management group.

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Providing support for enquiries from media, including acting as a spokesperson.

  • Creating, managing, editing and implementing communications strategies and products for corporate initiatives and
issues.

  • Acting as the lead and central point of contact for specific business areas and issues files.

  • Liaising with other groups within the organization to ensure consistent messaging and communications strategy.

  • Monitoring current events and industry news, anticipating potential impacts.

  • Developing earned media strategies and products, and coordinating and executing a variety of media announcements and
events. What you bring
  • At least six years of related experience, ideally in corporate communications, public relations or journalism.

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in communications or a related field.

  • Exceptional writing skills and ability to breakdown complex information into content that is engaging and easy to
understand.

  • Ability to work under pressure and excel in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.

  • Experience advising others, including senior leaders, on media strategy and issues management.

  • Comfortable dealing with sensitive material.

  • Strong organizational and research skills.

  • Position requires some occasional travel outside of Vancouver around BC.

  • This is a full-time temporary (FTT) opportunity for approximately 18 months.
