Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Value Optimization.

What you will do:

  • Work cross-functionally within the Commercial Unit to influence and develop value-added initiatives that contribute to business performance which includes developing a pipeline of ideas, assisting in prioritizing and tracking, as well as facilitating in tracking the status of initiatives
  • Research, compile, analyze, and interpret other business models, structures, market data through internal sources such as Nutrien\'s Market Research team, Investor Relations team, Potash Business Unit team, as well as external sources / contacts to support the Commercial strategy
  • Communicate the progress on Commercial strategy execution for multiple internal and external stakeholders through written memos and PowerPoints and verbally and lead the development of material for Board Strategy Sessions
  • Work effectively within a small, highly accountable team; display a flexible \xe2\x80\x9ccan do\xe2\x80\x9d attitude and willingness to help out where required
  • Manage to deadlines on multiple projects of varying complexities
  • Maintain confidentiality and use judgement on when and to whom to share information with
  • Track and oversee the risks relating to the Commercial Unit and ensure changing conditions are assessed for new opportunities and communicated into the corporate risk team
  • Point of contact to coordinate / manage between the Commercial Unit and all strategic efforts in other functions of Nutrien (ie: Digital Strategy assessment)
  • Oversee the Sr. Advisor, Commercial Development to provide thoughtful analysis on strategic Commercial decisions and lead the strategy execution
  • Assist with developing and maintaining a Commercial Strategy Playbook which details cross functionally each team\'s responsibilities for strategy execution
  • Be enthusiastic, curious, have an ability to look at issues from multiple angles and have a strong desire to learn
What you will bring:
  • A Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or related area and post-graduate designation such as a CFA, CPA or MBA in Strategy, Finance, Marketing or similar
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, which includes knowledge of the fertilizer industry. Experience with commercial organizations is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of equity markets and how to drive shareholder value
  • Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail
  • Led or participated in a project with cross-functional project teams, multiple deliverables and using project management techniques
  • Superior analytical skills, good with numbers, the ability to both go deep and retain big picture thinking
  • Strong demonstration of the ability to influence others, reach alignment and drive action
  • Good listener with strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter requiring little supervision
  • Must be proficient in all Microsoft applications with a high skill level with Excel/PowerPoint
