We are hiring a Sr. Manager, Strategy and Planning (Shoppers Drug Mart).

Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategy & Planning, you will be responsible for helping drive Shoppers Drug Mart\xe2\x80\x99s strategy across Health. Beauty. Convenience. Working cross-functionally across the division and enterprise, you will work with business leaders to help drive their strategic initiatives. You will work closely with the division\xe2\x80\x99s Executive team on all aspects of strategy development \xe2\x80\x93 from ideation to resource / financial planning to execution to benefits realization.

What You\'ll Do:

  • Lead the division\xe2\x80\x99s initiative management process; which includes oversight and stakeholder management for all major strategic and operational initiatives (strategic rationale, budget, key milestones, benefits realization, resource management, change management)
  • Advise, coach and support initiative leads on preparation for Executive updates
  • Facilitate the monthly initiative management meetings with the division\xe2\x80\x99s Executive team (chaired by the President of Shoppers Drug Mart); track key decisions and communicate follow-ups
  • Liaise with Strategy counterparts in other divisions to align on enterprise planning, strategy development, resource needs and benefits realization
  • Lead the preparation of the formal strategic offsites (2x annually) for the division
  • Support strategic Executive and Board updates / meetings within the division and across the enterprise
  • As appropriate, lead key strategic initiatives right from ideation to concept design to pilot to execution
  • Work cross-functionally (Marketing, Analytics, Loyalty) to drive customer insights that support strategy development
  • Work closely with counterparts in Finance, HR, Real Estate and IT on planning (both in-year and multi-year) to help forecast resources, capital / operational expenditure, and benefits realization
  • Continuously scan the external environment for strategic threats and opportunities, including competitor analysis, key market trends, regulatory shifts, and opportunities for innovation
  • Research new business opportunities for strategic fit (including new products / services, acquisition or partnership opportunities, technology adoption
  • Support the Strategy team in other ad-hoc initiatives as required
What You\'ll Need:
  • 5 to 7 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience
  • University Degree required; MBA or related Master\'s degree an asset
  • Retail or healthcare experience an asset
  • Corporate strategy or management consulting experience an asset
  • Strong organizational and project management skills a must
  • Strong financial and analytical skills as demonstrated by the ability to conduct and interpret both qualitative and quantitative research / insights
  • Strong presentation skills (including synthesizing large concepts to key insights for Exec updates)
  • Proven history advising, influencing and facilitating Executive-level stakeholders
  • Proven ability to transform large strategic goals into short and mid-term objectives and tactics
  • Experience in planning and supporting healthcare strategy an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative without close supervision
  • Able to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders; able to effectively communicate issues, actively engage and influence and work collaboratively as a team member
  • Able to provide solutions by using imaginative approaches where creative thinking and innovation are required
