Job Description

There\'s an exciting long-term contract / temporary opportunity for an efficient, organized Senior Financial Analyst to join an innovative company. The Senior Financial Analyst consultant will serve as the primary point of contact for such financial issues as project spending, planning, forecasting, and annual budgeting. You will also implement analysis of the operating results and financial performance of core business segments supporting public reporting requirements and also offer decision-making support for future company investments. Ottawa, Ontario will be the location for this Senior Financial Analyst.

Your responsibilities

- Provide management reporting, accounting and compliance guidance, and ensure alignment of operational initiatives by working closely with the Functional leads

- Offer assistance for ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests as necessary

- Assess and execute financial analysis in order to optimize business performance

- Capable of communicating updates to senior management, analyzing financial results, and distilling/synthesizing key issues in the course of advancing existing management reporting

- Collaborate with Operations and Accounting to drive improved management reporting by tracking financial results more discreetly and accurately

- Make business, operational, and financial processes to be shared, understood, and repeated by relevant teams

- Draft quarterly and monthly management reporting - evaluating financial results, summarizing key trends, analyzing current and future business risks, and flagging critical updates to senior leadership

- Manage advantageous relationships with Finance/Accounting leadership of integral business partners
- Efficient in office systems, reporting software, databases and other BI tools recommended

- Finance or Business BA/BS degree or one in a related field required

- Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired

- CPA/MBA preferred

- Demonstrated skills in process reengineering and optimization

- Possess strong Microsoft Excel skills

- Foundational knowledge in Revenue Recognition Policies

- General familiarity with Year-end Financial Statements

- Proven knowledge of Monthly Financial Statements

- Prepare Budgets experience highly desired

- Proficiency in Risk Management Policies

- Well-founded grasp of Prepare Financial Statements

- Expertise in Annual External Audit

- Solid understanding of Annual Audited Financial Statements

- Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement

- Able to think critically and operate effectively with management

- Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally, think practically and be solution-oriented

- Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint
