Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing strategy and programs for all TDC brands in markets in which the retailer is present. This role will also be responsible for communications as well as events, providing direction to the team and playing a key role to maximize profitability and achieve TDC\xe2\x80\x99s business objectives.
Transat Distribution Canada (TDC) is a full-service travel agency network with some 260 brick-and-mortar travel agencies, websites, a call centre, and independent contractors representing the agent@home program. The network includes the Transat Travel, Marlin Travel, Club Voyages, TravelPlus and Voyages en Libert\xc3\xa9 brands, as well as other affiliate members. TDC is a business unit of Transat A.T. Inc., a leading integrated international tourism company specializing in holiday travel and offering vacation packages, hotel stays and air travel. Transat was awarded Travelife certification in 2018 in recognition of its commitment to sustainable development. Its head office is in Montreal. Responsibilities
  • As a member of the leadership team, the incumbent will work closely with the other key roles at TDC to achieve strategic goals and priorities.
  • Continue to evolve TDC\xe2\x80\x99s position as the leading leisure travel retail company in Canada.
  • Responsible to own TDC brands and ensure relevancy, notoriety, and compliance across the board.
  • Lead the team of Marketing Specialists, Program Manager, Events Manager, Senior Communications Advisor, translator and Systems Analyst.
  • Collaborate with sectors at Transat outside of TDC such as legal services and CRM teams.
  • Marketing:
oCreate marketing plans and strategies to drive strong brand visibility and notoriety in the Canadian travel agency market: Transat Travel, Voyages Transat, Marlin Travel, Club Voyages;
oFully support the Air Transat business objectives to acquire the largest share of TDC flight and package customers by developing cross integrated marketing plans;
oManage the implementation of key strategies and optimize budget allocation with external partners.
oDevelop and execute strategies on behalf of our entire network utilizing varying methods to attract and retain clients including but not limited to local marketing, social media, websites;
oResponsible for marketing with white label loyalty partners;
oMonitor trends and best practices in the field of marketing and customer experience in Travel retail.
oSuccessfully plan around potential impacts of new initiative on operations in corporate agencies and for franchise and affiliate members;
oPlan necessary actions to grow engagement in the various programs always striving to offer the best value to agencies;
oResponsible to align with Transat to create the Governance for TDC\xe2\x80\x99s CRM systems;
oOversee the well-functioning of TDC\xe2\x80\x99s systems such as the TDC Extranet, Agent@home database, and CRM tools. Have continuous oversight for operational efficiency.
  • Programs:
  • Lead Business cases for new program proposals and presentations to high management.
  • Conduct negotiations with partners and 3-rd party vendors.
  • Ensure full project integration of programs and oversee financial management.
  • Acquisition: expand Gift Card program to acquire new clients and achieve incremental sales.
  • Luxury travel: diversify our clientele and increase our revenue by growing our Luxury Product sales utilizing TDC\xe2\x80\x99s LuxeXpert program and the benefits of the Virtuoso relationship.
  • Events
  • Responsible for leading, collaboratively, and independently, the good planning and execution of TDC events, conferences, and trips (internal and B2B);
  • Manage an autonomous team and follow up on agreements with suppliers, sponsorships, budget, material, speakers, themes, deadlines, satisfaction, etc;
  • Deploy the necessary strategies and communication plans to promote optimal participation;
  • Lead and encourage continued evolution in the events management processes, making the most use of collaborative tools and the digital environment (Microsoft Office Apps etc.);
  • Responsible for planning, participating, and facilitating event committees, directly or indirectly.;
  • Create and deploy new tools to measure participant satisfaction.
  • Communications
  • Supervise and lead implementation of all communications to employees, network members, partners and the media via a communications plan and ensure its follow-up.
  • Responsible for overseeing and validating the creation of various contents, quickly and efficiently, related to the press, informative documents, HR, news articles, presentations, etc.
  • Participate in the optimization of the content dissemination strategy and development of initiatives designed to mobilize and retain network members.
  • Contribute to develop TDC\'s key messages and identify communications opportunities to continually position TDC as a leading distribution network and reinforce its value.
  • Oversee and ensure consistency in all TDC communications such as newsletters and press releases while ensuring standard compliance by all sectors of TDC.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Marketing;
  • Bilingualism is a must (French/English);
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience in a marketing leadership role, in retail Travel is a plus;
  • Strong understanding of communication strategies, their impact on business results in times of change and influence on corporate culture;
  • Experience in both large conference and small executive type group event planning;
  • Ability to influence others;
  • Strong presentation and writing skills in both French and English (a Storyteller);
  • Ability to manage projects, work on multiple files at once and meet deadlines;
  • Analytical and innovative mindset;
  • Versatility, agility, creativity, attention to detail, rigour, autonomy, organizational skills;
  • Ability to interact at all levels and to develop harmonious relationships;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment;
  • Advanced knowledge of Word and PowerPoint, Excel;
  • Required to work occasionally outside of business hours, mainly for industry events;
  • Must be available to travel within Canada and abroad on occasion.
