:Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. Join us as we build a knowledgeable and collaborative team that courageously changes how transit projects will be delivered.Our Learning & Knowledge Management Team is looking for a Content Development Specialist to create engaging, visually compelling training content that supports the Capital Projects Group (CPG). In this role, you'll transform complex concepts into clear, impactful, and accessible learning materials that drive skill development and career growth. By leveraging your expertise in multimedia design, visual storytelling, and eLearning development, you'll bring training programs to life - enhancing engagement and knowledge retention across the CPG workforce.What will I be doing?

  • Develop engaging and visually compelling learning content that transforms complex information into clear, impactful, and accessible training materials.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content and translate learning objectives into effective digital and visual solutions.
  • Design and produce a variety of digital learning assets, including videos, animations, interactive e-learning modules, infographics, presentations, and job aids.
  • Create blended learning resources to support both virtual and instructor-led training, such as facilitator guides, participant workbooks, simulations, and microlearning content.
  • Apply multimedia and graphic design principles to enhance learner engagement, ensuring that content is not only functional but also visually appealing and user-friendly.
  • Use industry-standard tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia) to develop and edit multimedia training materials.
  • Ensure accessibility and usability by designing intuitive layouts and incorporating best practices in user experience and visual communication.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  • Post-secondary degree (or equivalent experience) in Adult Learning, Multimedia Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Digital Media - or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Strong expertise in eLearning development, graphic design, multimedia design, and e-learning development to create engaging training content.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools, including Articulate 360 (Storyline & Rise), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro), and Camtasia.
  • Experience with visual storytelling to transform complex information into compelling, easy-to-understand learning materials.
  • Knowledge of video editing, animation, and interactive media development for engaging learning experiences.
  • Understanding of user experience (UX), information design, and intuitive interface design to optimize content usability.
  • Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and training teams to develop effective learning solutions.
  • Experience with HTML and SharePoint site design for web-based learning content is a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards for digital learning materials.
