Join us as we build a knowledgeable and collaborative team that courageously changes how transit projects will be delivered.Our Learning, Design and Development Team is seeking a Specialist, Content Development to develop content for the learning strategy for the Capital Projects Group (CPG). The Content Development Specialist is responsible for facilitating continuous improvement through the development of effective and sustainable training programs and development solutions that transforms complex theories and concepts into understandable, relatable, and memorable solutions to meet the career development goals of CPG\'s workforce.What will I be doing?

  • Engage with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to develop content and storyboards
  • Lead the development of training and development programs in conjunction with the Manager, CPG Program Management Training & Development or Senior Training Design & Development Specialists by designing web-based and static content assets and solutions
  • Interpret client requests into tangible, achievable, and sustainable solutions that have a positive impact on the business by preparing CPG\'s integrated team to develop new skill and improve existing skills
  • Develop blended learning material for live and virtual training programs that include facilitator/participant guides, e-learning, simulations, presentation decks, and learner support resources such as user guides, demonstration videos, job aids, workbooks and other methods to support CPG
  • Convert textual information into visual data to bringing meaning to abstract or difficult to understand concepts and theories to promote learning transfer.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and consultation to CPG\'s Senior Training Design & Development Specialist to assist in creating engaging training and development materials
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  • Demonstrates experience in information design, graphic design, multimedia design, developing e-learning, desktop publishing design, and applying learning theory in the creation of training and development solutions
  • Completion of a postsecondary degree in Adult Learning, Fine Arts or Computer Science, or a related discipline - or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
  • Expertise in designing and developing Interactive Multimedia elements and assets, such as graphic design, audio recording/editing, video recording/editing, animations, and programming interactive elements with the ability to apply these skills to create engaging learning content
  • Expertise in graphic user interface design, page layouts and creative briefs, information design, and intuitive design
  • Expertise in applying adult instructional/learning theories and principles, training methodologies and instructional design methodologies
  • Experience with the Articulate 360 and Articulate Rise suite of products, Camtasia and/or Captivate would be an strong asset
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premier)
  • Video-editing and post-production experience with Premier Adobe is a strong asset
  • Graphic Design and HTML (ability to create SharePoint sites) is a strong asset
