Join us and put yourself in good company!We are looking for a full-time Specialist, Business Development (Proposals & Pursuits). As a key member of the Marketing and Client Relations team, you will be reporting to the Manager, Business Development. In this role, you will be heavily focused on preparing sophisticated pitch, proposal and credentialing material in response to RFP, RFQ, RFI and other new business requests, as well as writing and managing compelling content relating to business development and marketing initiatives for the firm.Key Responsibilities:

  • Proposal operation:
  • Supporting the operations and management of proposal development from start to finish.
  • Evaluating opportunities received from lawyers or procurement websites and making recommendations to Manager, Business Development.
  • Organizing, participating in and hosting kick-off meetings with key stakeholders to discuss strategy and approach, and following up with a project plan outlining deliverables and timelines.
  • Preparing customized drafts by sourcing appropriate content, matters and graphics, updating as needed to match the narrative, and editing and proofreading for clarity and accuracy.
  • Collaborating with lawyers and other firm members to gather information relating to pricing, conflicts, value-adds, etc.
  • Maintaining clear communication with manager and lawyers on proposal progress to ensure timely submission.
  • Tracking and reporting:
  • Monitoring and updating the proposal tracker on a regular basis to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Conducting debriefs with internal and external stakeholders to understand proposal outcomes, and share quarterly reports and year-over-year analysis with manager and firm management.
  • Data management:
  • Ensuring finalized proposal content is tracked in key content libraries, and distributed to appropriate media such as matters database, directory submissions, website, etc.
  • Creating and routinely updating precedent library with high quality content and design assets for existing and new practices with input from lawyers and senior members of the Marketing and Client Relations team.
  • Undertaking market, industry, and competitive research to constantly review and provide suggestions on best practices pertaining to differentiators, design and layout, material format, etc.
  • Performing other duties and/or participating in Firm-wide projects and other initiatives as requested/assigned.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field.
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience, preferably in a professional services firm.
  • General knowledge and understanding of how a law firm operates is encouraged.
  • Strong communication and business writing skills (structured, concise and persuasive), with great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be experienced in presenting and creating clean and corporate designs that embody the firms branding guidelines.
  • A strong collaborator who demonstrates excellent client service, ability to anticipate client needs, and the confidence to be a reliable service provider to internal stakeholders.
  • Motivated self-starter who is flexible, adaptable, a good listener, and an agile thinker who can offer solutions in vague and ambiguous situations.
  • Well organized with excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and accommodate rush requests with tight deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office - Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
