Overview


We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food service industry, with a focus on food preparation and catering. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to a collaborative culinary team. Responsibilities



Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and food preparation. Supervise kitchen staff and ensure they adhere to food safety and hygiene standards. Prepare high-quality and cost effective meals in accordance with the organization's recipes and presentation standards. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure meals are delivered on time. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items. Participate in special events, catering or delivering meals as required by the organizations.

Experience



Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant/ charitable or hospitality industry. Strong knowledge of food handling, safety regulations, and culinary techniques. Experience in catering is preferred but not mandatory. Driver's License needed to assist is meal delivery where needed. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment. A passion for cooking and creativity in menu development is highly valued. Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
