Find out how you can become part of a team where you belong and make a real impact every day.A day in the life of a Sous Chef:You are committed to service excellence and pride yourself in exceeding dining expectations by contributing to a culinary experience of the highest quality, consistency and creativity. Under the direction of the Director of Culinary Services you will be responsible for the smooth operation of the kitchen and the daily preparation of meals from pre-determined menus, ensuring the food quality and presentation meets fine dining standards. You will assist the Director of Culinary Services with menu creation, budget control and development of new ideas. You will provide instruction to the kitchen team and monitor kitchen service levels to ensure residents\xe2\x80\x99 service needs are met.How do I qualify?You must have:Red Seal Cook\xe2\x80\x99s Qualification CertificateFood Safe CertificateMinimum three years supervisory experience in a fine dining service environmentFive years progressive experience in a variety of dining environmentsWhat we are looking for:Previous Hotel experience in a fine dining propertyStrong service orientation with demonstrated knowledge of all types of formal Dining Room serviceExcellent communication skills; team player skilled with motivating and coaching othersProven leadership abilities; approachable and diplomatic decision making styleStrong problem solving and decision making skillsDetail oriented, with good organizational abilitiesDemonstrated ability to prioritize and respond with a sense of urgency when requiredAt Amica Senior Lifestyles we are passionate about working together in a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters innovation and turns ideas into action.
