We are seeking a knowledgeable and personable Sommelier to join our esteemed restaurant team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for wine, exceptional customer service skills, and experience in food and beverage service. As a key member of our hospitality staff, the Sommelier will guide guests through wine selections, enhance their dining experience, and contribute to the overall ambiance of our establishment. Duties
Curate and recommend wine pairings to complement menu items and enhance guest dining experiences
Assist guests in selecting wines based on their preferences and meal choices
Maintain an organized and up-to-date wine cellar or storage area
Serve wine professionally, ensuring proper presentation and pouring techniques
Provide detailed information about wines, including origin, flavor profiles, and serving suggestions
Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and presentation when necessary
Handle cashiering duties using Micros POS system for wine sales and related transactions
Ensure compliance with food safety standards, including proper food handling procedures
Assist with meal preparation or other food service tasks as needed
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service area
Requirements
Previous restaurant experience, particularly in food and beverage service or as a Sommelier preferred
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
Experience in serving, cashiering, and food handling procedures
Familiarity with Micros POS system for transactions
Knowledge of wine varieties, pairing techniques, and food service etiquette
Excellent communication skills with a personable demeanor
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Flexibility to work during peak hours including evenings and weekends as required
