As a key ambassador of our culinary and beverage offerings, you will curate wine selections, guide guests through their tasting journey, and foster a welcoming atmosphere that celebrates fine dining. Your expertise will help create memorable moments for our guests while supporting the restaurant's sales goals and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and service excellence.
Duties
Curate and recommend wine pairings that complement menu items and enhance guest satisfaction.
Assist guests in selecting wines based on their preferences, occasion, and menu choices, employing upselling techniques to maximize sales.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our wine list, including origins, tasting notes, and food pairings to provide expert guidance.
Collaborate with culinary staff on menu planning and special events such as banquets and catering functions to ensure seamless service.
Oversee proper storage, handling, and presentation of wines in compliance with food safety standards.
Provide exceptional customer service by serving wine professionally, explaining tasting notes, and ensuring guest comfort throughout their dining experience.
Manage POS systems such as Silverare and Optimal Control for order processing, billing, and cash handling with accuracy.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sommelier or in a similar food service role within fine dining or upscale restaurants.
Strong knowledge of wine varieties, food pairing principles, and beverage industry trends.
Experience with POS systems including Silverware and Optimal Control.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell confidently while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
Background in restaurant operations such as serving, catering, banquet experience, and food handling procedures.
Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while adhering to food safety standards.
