This is a full-time role and will report to the Manager, Enterprise Business Solutions within our Information Services (IS) department. The selected candidate will, in partnership with other Architects, define and maintain TCI\xe2\x80\x99s solution architecture blueprint focused on efficiency. develop strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and business functionsEnsure technical integrity and consistency of the solution on every stage of its lifecycleFoster dissemination and maturity of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)/Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes and deliverablesAnalyze current business and IS solutions and environments to detect deficiencies, recommend improvements and Kaizen (continuously improve) IS processesBest Practices, Collaboration and SharingCompile business needs, process information and technical requirements to produce an optimal, high level, analysis and conceptual design for projects and new solutionsDirect or indirect involvement in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of Information Technology within the enterpriseSteer and guide the creation and maintenance of the software design (application architecture) strategy and directionWork with third party vendors to develop and/or integrate their applications into TCI\xe2\x80\x99s solutions; ensure that applications are in accordance with company product standards and guidelinesProvide education, coaching, and guidelines to IS practice on the use of enterprise architecture tools, technology, and standardsProvide guidance and expertise on system options, risk, impact and costs vs. benefits analysisChampion the proper use of tools, processes and standards by conducting education, application review and design sessions to reinforce skills and knowledge baselineInfluence and communicate effectively with non-technical audiencesWhat You\xe2\x80\x99ll Bring:University Degree in computer science or related discipline5+ years technical expertise in System Integration, Web Services, middleware, SOA, ESB, BPM, ITIL, SaaS, COTS, IaaS5+ years experience in application design and architecture, including solid hands-on experience in conceptualization, modelling and designExperience in an environment running multiple platforms, .i.e. mainframe, Unix, Windows, is an assetExcellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent presentation skills; ability to present information to non-technical audiencesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsBroad understanding of IS management practices and technology issues, including SDLC, infrastructure and application design, development tools, support, project and process managementAbility to demonstrate initiative, good judgment and effective decision-making;
