Software Test Developer, Product Verification (13 Months Term)

Location: Ottawa-Hybrid; Other Canadian Locations-Remote

About the role

RapidResponse, our flagship product, is crucial to our customers\' daily operations. We\'re seeking a Software Developer I- Product Verification to join our R&D and Quality Teams. In this role, you will be responsible for creating test strategies, developing automated tests, and continuously improving our testing frameworks.

What you will do:

• Translate business use cases into comprehensive test strategies and automated tests
• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiencies in our tools and automation frameworks
• Lead the migration from a legacy test framework, reviewing and optimizing test plans
• Convert to in-house built Test Frameworks (Junit, TestCafe)
• Generate reports and dashboards to track progress
• Coordinate evaluation activities from test execution to results analysis and reporting
• Collaborate with R&D staff to analyze and present results on standard products
• Work with IT and Cloud Services to document hardware requirements and configurations
• Contribute to the team\'s automation backlog
• Collaborate with DevOps on testing deployment tools and provide continuous feedback

What we are looking for:

• University degree in computer science or software engineering
• 3+ years of experience in a software test role
• Proficient in programming languages such as Java, C#, TypeScript, and scripting with groovy, python, or PowerShell
• Experience with automation tools/frameworks such as TestCafe, Junit, Jenkins
• Working knowledge of VMware
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, SVN, Git, and Configuration Management Tools like Ansible
• Understanding of all tiers of software architecture, including web, application server, and database tiers
• Knowledge of web and mobile interface technologies
• Demonstrated experience in maintaining and improving testing frameworks
• Outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to self-manage daily tasks
• Team player in a demanding and fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Lifelong willingness to learn new skills and techniques
• Experience working in Agile environments
