This is an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker II in the Adult Inpatient Program at the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury (CCMHBI) in Ponoka. CCMHBI is a campus of specialists and health professionals that are committed to integrated, multi-disciplinary care and treatment to ensure the best outcomes for patients and their families. This Social Worker II - Adult Inpatient Program position requires a highly motivated individual that is keenly interested in working with patients within an acute psychiatric setting. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communications skills are large contributors to success in this position. You will be reporting to a Unit Manager and will be an active member of the interdisciplinary team. Located in the community of Ponoka, within the parkland region of central Alberta, the Centennial Centre is one of the most modern mental health referral centers in Western Canada.

Description:

As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor\'s degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW). Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to be informed by and work within applicable Alberta Legislations; Mental health Act (MHA), Alberta Guardianship and Trusteeship Act (AGTA), Personal Directives Act (PDA), Health Professions Act and Health Information Act. Demonstrated excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a psychiatric environment required. Two years of practice experience with at least one year in Mental Health. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working within complex care and strong system advocacy skills.
