Your Opportunity:

Working collaboratively and as part of a multidisciplinary team the Social Worker II is involved in the provision of Social Work services to patients and families. This includes psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, education, treatment, advocacy, resource finding, and consultation, making appropriate referrals both internal and external to the hospital and liaising with community agencies/programs. The incumbent will also participate in non-patient care activities such as program planning, evaluation, quality improvement research and staff development, along with other duties as required by the Manager.

As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor\'s degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW). Additional Required Qualifications:

The candidate will have proven communication skills to work cooperatively and effectively with the health care team members, patients and their families in a fast-paced environment. Strong professional judgment, initiative, and effective time management skills are necessary. The ability to work with various computer programs is required. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
