About Our Opportunity

The Social Responsibility Officer is accountable for coordinating, facilitating and supporting the operational implementation and delivery of specific corporate social responsibility projects, initiatives and programs, in particular those related to the Support4Communities, Support4Sport, and Support4Culture programs, which support the Social Responsibility Charter and strategic priorities.

Specific accountabilities relate to the achievement of social responsibility and strategic objectives; supporting and assessing projects and initiatives that support the achievement of those objectives; relationship management; stakeholder engagement; program management monthly; supporting development and execution of communication plans; and, collaborating on compliance, risk and issues management.

Primary Accountabilities

A few of your key responsibilities will include:

  • managing and assisting in the development and implementation of community-focused activities (Support4Communities) and responsible gambling programs;
  • building awareness of community program messages through program and project delivery, including events and social media related to sources of funding for arts, culture and heritage (Support4Culture), as well as amateur sport in Nova Scotia (Support4Sport);
  • fostering positive relationships with stakeholders;
  • being aware of latest developments in responsible gambling, charitable gaming and community investment;
  • assisting in the development of the annual social responsibility business plans.
Qualifications and Experience
  • undergraduate degree in business, communications, social or health sciences and a minimum of five years of related work experience, including managing projects, evaluations, budgets, and stakeholder relations;
  • excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;
  • ability to plan and prioritize work effectively;
  • strong problem-solving skills;
  • valid drivers license;
  • availability to work evenings and weekends when needed for program delivery throughout the province
You are results oriented and well organized, with excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; In addition you have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to plan and prioritize work effectively and positively influence relationships.

You have a university degree in business, communications, social or health science and five (5) years of relevant work experience, including managing projects, evaluations, budgets, and stakeholder relations. Experience in social responsibility will be considered an asset. A valid drivers license and the availability to work evenings and weekends for program delivery throughout the province is required.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint is required.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Successful completion of a security clearance application process will be required as a condition of employment.

Working Conditions

Most of your time is spent in a comfortable office setting. Your normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day. The ability to work evenings and weekends for program delivery throughout the province is required.

Pay Grade: PR 13

Salary Range: $2,543.38 - $3,091.70 Bi-Weekly
