ABOUT US Lunenburg Doc Fest is an annual documentary film festival with a mission to entertain, educate, and inspire by showcasing the documentary art form and creating a cultural connection between audiences and artists in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. THE OPPORTUNITY The Social Media Coordinator will train and work with Lunenburg Doc Fest\xe2\x80\x99s (LDF) Executive Director and Digital Media Coordinator. LDF is seeking a motivated Social Media Coordinator to manage our social media platforms and engage with our online community. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing social media campaigns that promote our festival, increase engagement with our audience, and drive ticket sales. The ideal candidate will manage and meet deadlines, have the ability to respond to fast-changing priorities, and is a self-motivated team player with a cooperative attitude who brings positive energy to work. We seek a motivated individual to be a part of our growing team and charity arts organization. Creative thinking, strong attention to detail and a collaborative attitude are key. RESPONSIBILITES
  • Train, Develop and execute social media strategies to promote the festival and its events
  • Create and curate engaging content for social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
  • Monitor and respond to social media conversations and engage with the festival\'s online community
  • Develop and manage social media advertising campaigns to promote the festival and its events
  • Analyze and report on social media metrics, such as engagement, reach, and conversions
  • Collaborate with the festival team to ensure social media content aligns with the festival\'s brand and messaging
  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends and best practices
NOTE: Due to the nature of the industry this position includes some varied hours/days, evening and weekend work as required by events. The candidate will have the flexibility to work an adjusted schedule with more hours leading up to events PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Familiarity with social media platforms
  • Ability to create and curate visually appealing social media content
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral
  • Extremely organized, with time-management skills
  • Work under pressure and react quickly to requests as a creative problem solver
  • A passion for film and the arts
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
ELIGIBILITY This job is funded through the Job Creation Partnership Program of Employment. To be eligible for the position you must qualify for the program. You must be Labour Market Development Agreement (LMDA) eligible to access the Job Creation Partnership. To be LMDA eligible you must meet one of the following:
  • have a current Employment Insurance (EI) claim
  • have had an EI claim that ended within the last 60 months
  • have received benefits under the EI emergency response benefit within the previous 60 months
  • have been employed with gross insurable earnings of $2000 or higher annually, in at least 5 of the last 10 years
