Overview

We're seeking a well-rounded Skilled Production Manager to join our dynamic team. This job plays a crucial role in our manufacturing process, taking the lead in day-to-day production of curling rink equipment, curling stones, and curling ice scrapers. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background and has worked with electrical components. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual who can take the reins in a busy shop, while coordinating with a highly-dedicated team to ensure timely delivery to customers worldwide. Responsibilities

Performing machine assembly tasks with precision, while adhering to quality standards. Grinding, cutting, and polishing granite curling stones. Shimming ice-cutting blades to spec tolerance (training provided). Operating a variety of tools, including drill press, hand grinder, disc sander, table and skill saw, drilling/milling CNC machine, metal cutting machine, welder (MIG, TIG, Arc), paint sprayer, parts engraver, and hand tools. Painting and fitting machine components. Setting up and adjusting production machines/tools. Maintaining, repairing, and calibrating precision measuring instruments. Shipping and receiving. Tracking and counting inventory. Keeping parts, supplies, and work areas organized and following safety rules. Collaborating with team on continuous improvements. Troubleshooting any mechanical issues that arise during the production process.

Qualifications

We are

one of only three companies worldwide

that manufacture products for curling and rink maintenance. So, we don't expect that you'll have direct experience, but you'll advance quickly if you have a well-rounded mechanical background, willingness to adapt, and confidence to lead.

2+ years of mechanical assembly experience that includes operating a wide variety of tools and machines. Grade 10 education, or equivalent training and experience. Familiar with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Eager to learn and be part of a team. Able to lift 50 lbs. and work in conditions that may include noise and dust. Able to walk or stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labour. Fluent in English, written and verbal. Valid class 5 driver license. Ability to program/operate a CNC Mill is an asset (not required).
