SKATING & HOCKEY

PROGRAM INSTRUCTORS

The City of Port Alberni's Parks, Recreation & Culture Department is currently accepting


applications from positive, enthusiastic and outgoing candidates to support our programs as


casual Program Instructors for skating and hockey programs. We are looking for motivated,


creative, energetic individuals who are interested in leading programs for children and youth.


Instructors are needed to run a variety of daytime and evening programs; preference will be


given to applicants who are available to work weekday daytime hours.





Preferred candidates will:


have previous experience working, coaching or teaching children and/or youth have the ability to lead and instruct programs in an effective, encouraging and
supportive manner


have excellent interpersonal and communication skills have previous experience planning programs work well independently and with minimal supervision be high energy, dynamic and enjoy working with kids be available to work at a variety of times including daytime, evenings and weekends have current Standard First Aid with CPR C/AED certifications Successful candidates will be required to successfully complete a Police Information Check.


The rate of pay for this position is $19.59 (2023 rate) per hour plus 15% in-lieu of benefits.
