Your Opportunity:

Our Wabasca/Desmarais Health Care Centre has an exciting opportunity for Site & Seniors Manager. In this position, you will provide direction and leadership to the Wabasca nursing and local home care team, and to other AHS teams supporting the healthcare centre. You will supervise and support, assess, plan, and evaluate the operations and activities of the site, communicate with key stakeholders, and participate in quality improvement and budget management processes. To be successful in this role, you will possess an understanding and respect for Indigenous culture, history, and health practices, and will ensure that Indigenous patients\' and families\' needs are supported in a culturally safe and appropriate manner. You\'ll possess skills in critical and analytical thinking, decision making, communication, teamwork, prioritization, time management, advocacy, and conflict management. You\'ll also demonstrate passion in team engagement, coaching, and professional development including the ability to foster a climate of cooperation and collaboration building solid relationships between inter-professional team members. Located on the narrows between North and South Wabasca Lakes, Wabasca/Desmarais is rich with culture mixed with small-town leisurely charm. The Director of Clinical Operations will provide you with guidance, training and mentorship to support you in your new role. AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description:

The Site & Seniors Manager is a key leadership role in the North Zone Clinical Operations and reports directly to the Director, Clinical Operations. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership, and organization of site services within designated hospital(s) in the North Zone. This work will be accomplished through planning, delivery and evaluating health services within assigned hospitals, in support of the vision, mission, values and business plan of Alberta Health Services. Responsibilities will include making key decisions regarding the integration of various resources to ensure effective delivery of health services within hospital/site. This position will also be accountable for providing leadership in establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of Clinical Operations within the North Zone. The Site & Seniors Manager will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders in order to provide leadership to Clinical Operations within the North Zone. The Site & Seniors Manager is also responsible for: Implementation, operational management, and monitoring of integrated acute care and seniors services within site. Within established policies, guidelines, and regulations the Site & Seniors Manager is anticipated to assess, plan, direct and evaluate the operations and activities of the site. Participating in the budget process and monitoring financial position of the site through variance report analysis. Providing support, participating in proactive and collaborative leadership discussions with the director and other members of the area management team to support and ensure cohesive approaches and implementation of related services within designated geographic area.

Required Qualifications:

Diploma or degree in health-related field. A minimum of 5 years in a management role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment. Knowledge of legislation and regulation related to healthcare.
Additional Required Qualifications:

In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Progressive leadership experience in a health services environment, such as Team Lead, Supervisor, or Management. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with healthcare regulations and registration. Previous experience working with collective agreements. Experience with the Protection for Persons in Care Act (PPC Act). Experience working with North Zone Indigenous communities and experience in local Indigenous culture. Combination of education and experience may be considered.
