Midland is currently seeking a full-time Site Safety Manager for our Head Office in Dieppe, New Brunswick.

Reporting to the Director of Health, Safety and Environment, the Site Safety Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of Midland\xe2\x80\x99s HSE Department.

Primary responsibilities will include managing the HSE Team and HSE initiatives and actively encouraging the implementation of HSE best practices to reach our goal of zero lost time accidents. This is a hands on position and requires regular participation and support for HSE activities on a regular basis to support HSE initiatives and the HSE Advisors.

Qualifications:

• Education Required:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a related field
• CRSP
• Years of Experience Required: 7-10 years of safety management experience in a fast paced industrial environment preferred
• Strong leadership experience
• Strategic thinker & effective decision maker
• Ability to multi task and switch priorities as required
• Strong hands on management skills and strong conflict resolution skills
• Effective communicator- verbal & written

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and update as required, existing HSE policies, programs and procedures in consultation with key stakeholders and the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC)
• Provide ongoing support as required to management in the effective execution of HSE programs and initiatives
• Assist the HSE Advisors with the initial management of the injuries to minimize loss potential
• Manage the HSE inspection and audit process programs
• Responsible for the accuracy of the Incident Data Base and the generation of required reports and balanced scorecards
• Manage all incidents to ensure proper investigation and root causes are arrived at with proper corrective actions implemented
• Assist in the evaluation of products as they relate to HSE
• Review, monitor and evaluate Contractor Safety Programs and provide ongoing HSE support
• Production Management and Contractor liaisons
