AltaGas - Health & Safety Manager, Midstream
Reporting to the Director, EHS Midstream, this position is responsible for establishing developing, and promoting the personal safety, occupational health, and industrial hygiene functions within the AltaGas Midstream business. As part of the Midstream EHS Leadership Team, the Health & Safety Manager will provide health and safety technical support to the site/project EHS Advisors and operational leaders.
You Will:
Own the Operating Management System (OMS) Health and Safety Management (HSM) Program and be responsible for the maintenance, management, development, and implementation of sociated program components necessary to improve and foster a positive EHS culture
Own the Incident Management (INMG) Element to ensure accurate and timely reporting of all incidents, accurate incident classification, effective investigations, and development of corrective actions
Support the following EHS-related OMS Programs and Elements to ensure that health and safety risks are appropriately identified and managed
With the Senior Manager, Environment, work closely with the EHS Team Leads and Petrogas EHS Manager to ensure EHS strategy is being implemented, EHS risks are identified and managed and personnel at the field level are supported
Provide health and safety support to the EHS Projects Team Lead and Project development teams with a particular focus on the early phases of project development
Work with Corporate EHS resources to develop and manage the Personal Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Occupational Health programs for Midstream operations, projects, and Trucking business
Provide technical and tactical expertise on complex occupational health and safety issues that may have a significant impact on Midstream employees, resources, revenue, and operations
Provide day-to-day coaching and support to EHS Advisors and operational leaders
Support the development and implementation of health and safety related training including maintenance of the Midstream EHS Training Matrix
Work with the EHS Coordinator to manage and maintain the Health and Safety Key Performance Indicator collection and publishing process
Analyze Health and Safety KPIs for trends. Recommend and support implementation of the associated preventive and corrective actions
With the Senior Manager, Environment, develop and present the Monthly EHS Meetings and provide content for the field based EHS Meetings
Support the processes to establish, track, communicate, and develop HSM performance goals
Develop and manage the annual HSM budget
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks
You Have:
Hazard assessment and risk management process experience
TapRooT Root Cause Analysis process (or equivalent) trained and experienced in use of
Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices
Strong written communication skills with previous experience in writing governance EHS documents
Proficient computer skills (E.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email) with the ability to pick up business-specific software training quickly
Results-oriented individual with the ability to interpret and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and timelines.
Strong leadership skills and ability to influence people, often without direct authority
Be curious and flexible, with strong self-motivation
Ability to provide coaching to both workforce and leadership positively and effectively
Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in EHS
Oil and Gas or heavy industrial experience and/or marine facility experience would be an asset
Clean driver\'s abstract and valid driver\'s license
Proven EHS understanding, being viewed as a respected and credible subject matter expert
Ability to travel to various field sites and locations across Midstream.
