The opportunity:



The incumbent is responsible for the effective coordination and day-to-day operations of the Clinical Learning and Simulation Program (CLSP), ensuring the seamless delivery of simulation-based education. This role oversees scheduling, staffing, and allocation of technical resources to support simulation sessions utilizing a wide range of technologies, including anatomic models, task trainers, full-body simulators, and virtual reality systems. The position provides leadership and supervision to operations staff, supports faculty and learners during simulation activities, and ensures compliance with safety, technical, and operational procedures.

The incumbent collaborates closely with faculty, the Simulation Clinician & VR Lead, and other CLSP team members to plan and deliver high-quality simulation experiences aligned with educational objectives. The role also supports accreditation processes, develops and updates procedures, and participates in quality improvement initiatives. Ongoing professional development and engagement in simulation education best practices are essential to maintaining program excellence and supporting the advancement of simulation-based learning within the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences.

The qualifications and experience we're looking for:



PhD in a healthcare program (medicine, nursing, paramedic, or related healthcare field) with a minimum of three years of directly related experience.

OR

Master's degree in related study area with five years = directly related experience.

OR

Bachelor's degree in related study area with seven years = related experience.

Experience in a clinical simulation environment, preferred. An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, required. Demonstrated experience managing and supervising staff, required. Strong technical skills and ability to set-up, operate, and troubleshoot complex equipment (AV/IT and simulation technology, required. Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, required. Ability to learn new technologies quickly and easily, required. Demonstrate initiative, independence, reliability, attention to detail, and sound judgment, required. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups including faculty, staff, students, and the public, required. Ability to organize and maintain accurate records, required. Ability to make decisions quickly and effectively, required. Ability to use hand tools, required. Knowledge of medical terminology and human physiology, required. Organizational and time management abilities to coordinate multiple projects or simulation activities, required. Problem solving skills in dynamic, technology driven environments, required. Ability to keep up to date on emerging simulation techniques. A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required. Commitment to professional development in healthcare education and emerging simulation/VR technologies, required. Flexibility and adaptability in rapidly evolving technological and educational environment, required. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, required.
