Job Summary


The Shops and Maintenance Supervisor is required to perform skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of all Lafrentz Road Marking Equipment. They will have the ability to troubleshoot major and minor mechanical problems, as well as be able to repair or schedule and supervise repairs of all necessary mechanical components. Promote and participate in 6S and Goal Zero Initiatives.

Main Responsibilities


  • Positively participate in company safety program and adhere to all safety requirements.
  • Provide and manage routine maintenance and repair of Road Marking Equipment.
  • Electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Diagnose and repair all company equipment.
  • Check all equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances.
  • Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to their supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop, out of town and road calls when required, based on accreditation.



  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work.
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.
  • Shipping and Receiving of Operational and Shop commodities
  • Manage the Armstrong and Remote Equipment Storage Location Yards
  • Scheduling repairs, Outside Service and part ordering in a timely manner.
  • Complete assigned tasks to ensure all Colas Canada reporting and equipment maintenance requirements are met
  • Other mechanical repair work as required.


Skills


  • Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical, including schematics and diagnostics.
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Have excellent Fabricating skills to preform /oversee additions to the Fleet Equipment


Education/Experience


  • Possess a Valid Class 1 Drivers License
  • Forklift, Propane, or other internal Safety Certificates
  • Strong Mechanical background
  • Extensive experience in mechanical repairs
  • Certified Truck Trailer Mechanic or equivalent


Working Conditions


  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lb.
  • Travel to off-site locations will be required.
  • Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Hazards associated with the trade.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors.
  • May be exposed to construction sites.
