MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR, COILED TUBING - (located in Red Deer, AB)

ROLE STATEMENT:

The Supervisor, Maintenance, Coiled Tubing will be a member of the Canadian Maintenance department responsible for completing regular and preventative maintenance on Coiled Tubing equipment. Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance, Canadian Division, the Supervisor, Maintenance, Coiled Tubing, will focus on diagnosing and repairing Coiled Tubing injectors in a timely and effective manner.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Liaise with the District Coiled Tubing Maintenance and Department leads to ensure District Coiled Tubing maintenance programs (specifically with injectors) are meeting the needs of the Department.
  • Identify enhancements to the injector maintenance program
  • Liaise between Maintenance group and Coiled Tubing Operations / Department Managers to ensure correct and accurate information is being reported from maintenance team, and adequate day to day events are being executed and prioritized.
  • Educate and troubleshoot with front-line Field Supervisors to ensure equipment and injectors are operating efficiently in the field.
  • Direct and implement company maintenance standards, processes and procedures to assure equipment reliability throughout its lifetime including:
  • Proactive maintenance with established guidelines, including compliance to all regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Extensive inspection program to prevent unsafe conditions and minimize operating problems while maintaining equipment integrity
  • Oil analysis of all major components
  • Inspection and operating envelopes of all critical equipment, such as coiled tubing units, reel trailers, injector heads, cranes, etc.
  • Assist District Coiled Tubing Maintenance leads in prioritizing and planning daily Coiled Tubing equipment repairs, field, shops and yards
  • Monitor third party equipment repairs
  • Ensure all regulatory inspections are performed
  • Work with operations to identify and resolve issues
  • Identify, summarize, and report on equipment problems and maintenance issues
  • Provide operational support and maintenance / equipment expertise during job execution
  • Mentor apprentices and new employees
  • Assist operations in constantly reviewing CMS Q&HSE incidents to identify and resolve issues with equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime. Anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Monitor the use and inventories of Coiled Tubing critical spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiate reordering when necessary
  • Assist with identifying and improving business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); and cost control initiatives and accountability
  • Summarize and report on District and Divisional Coiled Tubing maintenance projects and issues.
  • Bring consistency amongst all Coiled Tubing operating districts
KEY ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Fluent in hydraulics
  • An energetic, self-starter with the ability to work in a fast paced environment that is deadline driven
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities with a high attention to detail
  • Team player with the ability to conduct work with professionalism
  • Thorough knowledge of Cetaris software
  • Well versed in preventative maintenance and industry standards/practices
  • Ability to generate reports with a high attention to detail
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office is an asset
  • This position is considered to be a Safety Sensitive Position and may require additional screening
  • This position has bona fide physical requirements and may require additional screening (please refer to the applicable Physical Demands Profile)
  • This position will require travel to the field
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Journeyman Mechanic, Heavy Duty Mechanic, Millwright or equivalent
  • 5+ years of related and progressive work experience overseeing maintenance and/or manufacturing of Coiled Tubing equipment
  • Class 5 or higher Driver\'s License is required
