Tri-global Solutions Group Inc. is seeking one (1) SharePoint Analyst (SharePoint 2016 to SharePoint Online Project) to join our talented Service Delivery team at Ministry of Technology and Innovation (Government of Alberta).

WORK MODEL: The successful contractor will be working remotely, though must be available for onsite meetings if required. It is anticipated that this role will be 100% remote. Work must be done from within Canada at all times due to network and data security policies. Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada to apply (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident). Standard Hours of work are 08:15 - 16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding observed holidays.

PROJECT OVERVIEW



Project Name:

SharePoint 2016 to SharePoint Online Project

Scope:

Reporting to the Manager, Content and Collaboration Services (CCS), the SharePoint Analyst's primary role will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for the GoA SharePoint environments. You will collaborate closely with end-users, IT teams, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth functioning of SharePoint sites and applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.??

The SharePoint Analyst will review and understand departmental and corporate policies, business rules, data requirements and supporting system processes and ensure that project objectives and schedules align with the overall department goals and the corporate business plan.?

The SharePoint Analyst will provide analysis and recommendations on process improvements and to applications, SharePoint sites, hosting infrastructure and include details of risks, dependencies, business impacts, interdependencies, and policy implications pertaining to internal/external expectations and influence the methodology to be applied on projects.?

This resource will have working knowledge and experience of IT infrastructure environments including general concepts of workstation/server hardware, software build and push strategies, and a general understanding of line-of-business applications and architectures. The resource must have a sound understanding of IT Change and Communication Management and User Acceptance Testing frameworks. A proven ability to function on an individual basis and in a team environment is essential. Resources awareness of existing GoA and department IT policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and practices is an asset.?

This resource will participate in the M365 and SharePoint Online Migration Project, includes planning, designing, testing, migration, and implementation activities as it relates to SharePoint Online and related products.??

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES



User gathering and effective communication with the stakeholders. Migrating the content from existing Intranet websites into the new modernized pages. Design and build responsive and user-friendly Intranet pages using SharePoint Online. Customize SharePoint components, including web parts, lists, libraries, and workflows. Develop custom themes, templates, and branding elements to align with Government of Alberta guidelines Optimize site navigation and structure for ease of use. Implement content management best practices, ensuring consistent and engaging communication. Develop workflows and automation to improve content publishing efficiency. Perform business analysis and design to support creating SharePoint solutions. Provide first and second-level technical support for SharePoint-related issues, including user inquiries, system errors, and performance problems. Troubleshoot SharePoint site and application issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions in a timely manner. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement enhancements to SharePoint sites and applications. Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials to support end-users and IT staff in using and administering SharePoint. Participate in testing and quality assurance activities to validate the functionality, performance, and usability of SharePoint solutions. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to SharePoint and collaborate with the team to evaluate their potential impact and benefits. Perform business requirements and complex design in delivering solutions using out-of-box SharePoint components Provide expertise for the design of new processes for support of Microsoft SharePoint and related systems. Validation of content and data used to support migration efforts. Resolution of day-to-day problems arising through operational support of SharePoint. Development and implementation of solutions both individually and as a member of the SharePoint operations team. Routine reports that correlate hours worked with operational duties Work directly with Government of Alberta technical staff and other stakeholders.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS



- The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following (8 years+): o University graduation in computer science or a related discipline and 4-yr relevant experience;?OR?o 2-yr diploma in computer science or a related discipline and 6-yr relevant experience;?OR?o 1-yr certificate in computer science or a related discipline and 7-yr relevant experience;?OR?o a currently active professional certification or accreditation and 8-yr relevant experience

- Experience as a Site Collection Administrator. (2 years+)

- Experience preparing and documenting materials for user acceptance testing. (2 years+)

- Experience troubleshooting forms and workflows (all types). (2 years+)

- Experience using and supporting ShareGate. (2 years+)

- Experience with complex SharePoint projects including solutions depending on: managed metadata, workflows, forms, and user interface customization. (2 years+)

- Experience with the development, integration, and support of Microsoft SharePoint 2016 and Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online. (2 years+)

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS



- Experience applying patches/updates to SharePoint environments. (2 years+)

- Experience in developing integrated system and technical design specifications on complex engagements. (2 years+)

- Experience using PowerShell to manage Farm/Application/Site Collection/Site Features. (2 years+)

- Experience with disaster recovery testing. (2 years+)

- Experience with Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online admin portal, reporting, configuration, and administrative tasks. (2 years+)

- Experience with the Government of Alberta's Information Technology/Information Management policies, standards and guidelines. (1 years+)

- Experience with the use of Central Administration on a SharePoint environment. (2 years+)

- Experience with upgrading Microsoft SharePoint environments and migration of content. (2 years+)
