About the Role
We are seeking a SharePoint Analyst to provide technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for the Government of Alberta (GoA) SharePoint environments. In this role, you will collaborate with end-users, IT teams, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of SharePoint sites and applications. The ideal candidate is analytical, an excellent communicator, and passionate about delivering outstanding customer service.
You will play a key role in reviewing departmental and corporate policies, business rules, and system processes to ensure project objectives align with organizational goals. This position also involves contributing to process improvements, analyzing risks and dependencies, and supporting enterprise-wide SharePoint initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Support SharePoint environments: Manage SharePoint 2016 On-Premise and SharePoint Online.
Business analysis & design: Translate requirements into effective SharePoint solutions.
Technical support: Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for user inquiries, system errors, and performance issues.
Troubleshooting: Identify root causes of SharePoint issues and implement timely solutions.
Maintenance & monitoring: Perform updates, patches, configurations, and proactively monitor servers, services, and workflows.
Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver enhancements.
Documentation & training: Develop technical documentation, user guides, and training materials for end-users and IT staff.
Testing & QA: Participate in validation activities to ensure functionality, performance, and usability.
Must Have
Experience as a Site Collection Administrator.
Experience preparing and documenting materials for user acceptance testing.
Experience troubleshooting forms and workflows (all types).
Experience using and supporting ShareGate.
Experience with complex SharePoint projects including solutions depending on: managed metadata, workflows, forms, and user interface customization.
Experience with the development, integration, and support of Microsoft SharePoint 2016 and Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online.
Nice to Have
Experience applying patches/updates to SharePoint environments.
Experience in developing integrated system and technical design specifications on complex engagements.
Experience using PowerShell to manage Farm/Application/Site Collection/Site Features.
Experience with disaster recovery testing
Experience with Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online admin portal, reporting, configuration, and administrative tasks.
Experience with the Government of Alberta's Information Technology/Information Management policies, standards and guidelines.
Experience with the use of Central Administration on a SharePoint environment.
Experience with upgrading Microsoft SharePoint environments and migration of content.
