FINANCE

The Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach Fall 2023 MGST 611 LEC 01.

MGST 611 LEC 01 (Managerial Economics)

• Monday 11:00-13:45

Classes in the Fall 2023 semester run from September 5, 2023 to December 6, 2023.

Registrar Scheduled Exams will take place between Saturday, December 9, 2023 to Wednesday, December 20, 2023, if applicable.

Course Description

\xe2\x80\x9cIntroduction to economic models for business decision making. Models from microeconomics are applied to provide insight in understanding costs, pricing, industry structure, and competitive interaction. Information economics is used to illustrate principal-agent problems that commonly arise in a business context. Macroeconomic models of supply and demand are applied to illustrate how government policy affects inflation and exchange rates.\xe2\x80\x9d

Qualifications

• MBA degree or equivalent and work experience in the field are desirable
• Previous post-secondary teaching experience is a requirement
• Preference will be given to applicants who have experience providing instruction face-to-face and online in a post-secondary setting
• Experience in programs such as Zoom, D2L and other digital education products would be an asset
