REAL ESTATE STUDIES

The Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach Fall 2023 combined sections of REAL 447 LEC 01/ REAL 647 LEC 01.

REAL 447 LEC 01/ REAL 647 LEC 01 (Real Estate Legal and Operating Environment)

• Monday 18:30-21:15

Classes in the Fall 2023 semester run from September 5, 2023 to December 6, 2023.

Registrar Scheduled Exams will take place between Saturday, December 9, 2023 to Wednesday, December 20, 2023, if applicable.

Course Description

\xe2\x80\x9cFoundation of legal, regulatory and stakeholder issues affecting real estate. Topics include: real estate transactions, real estate brokerage, real property ownership interests, illegal discrimination in residential and commercial transactions, and other legal transactions involving real estate, such as sales and leases. Challenges within approvals processes based on government relations and stakeholder perceptions are also a focus\xe2\x80\x9d

Qualifications

• MBA degree or equivalent and work experience in the field are desirable
• Previous post-secondary teaching experience is a requirement
• Preference will be given to applicants who have experience providing instruction face-to-face and online in a post-secondary setting
• Experience in programs such as Zoom, D2L and other digital education products would be an asset
