Position Description

The Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach Fall 2023 ACCT 601 LEC 01 Thursdays from 11:00-13:45 and/or ACCT 601 LEC 02 on Thursdays from 18:30-21:15.

ACCT 601 (Introductory Financial Accounting)

  • LEC 01 Thursdays 11:00-13:45
  • LEC 02 Thursdays 18:30-21:15
Classes in the Fall 2023 semester run from September 5, 2023 to December 6, 2023.

Registrar Scheduled Exams will take place between Saturday, December 9, 2023 to Wednesday, December 20th, 2023, if applicable.

Course Description:

\xe2\x80\x9cIntroduction to accounting for business organizations. Reporting of financial results of operations and financial position to investors, managers, and others. Emphasis on the use of accounting information for decision-making.\xe2\x80\x9d

Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree and Charted Professional Accountant (CPA) or PhD in Accounting (or near completion)
  • Previous post-secondary teaching experience
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have previous experience teaching ACCT 601
  • Experience in programs such as Zoom, D2L and other digital education products would be an asset
