Job Description

The Automotive Service Advisor communicates directly with customers, managing their needs and expectations regarding auto service maintenance and repairs, utilizing Canadian Tire's computerized booking and purchasing systems to estimate service costs and times. This role is the link between the technician and the customer. Superior customer service and communication skills are essential to success in this position.

Our Service Advisor will also cross train with our Back parts position, The Automotive Back Parts Window Associate works in a fast-paced environment and supports Automotive Licensed Technicians in locating and providing the right parts for auto repairs. This role involves the use of a computerized automotive part system to estimate repairs, order parts, and to control and maintain inventory.

The ideal candidate will be mature, attentive to detail, a team player, and customer focused.

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities and Tasks



Provide excellent customer service and ensure ongoing commitment to the needs of the customer and their vehicle. Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner, over the phone and in person. Understand customer needs and provide them with a complete solution. Manage customer concerns and problems promptly. Deal with challenging situations in a professional manner. Ensures a smooth flow of communication with customers during repairs or maintenance work. Complete and review repair orders with customers. Estimate cost and time for service and repairs needs. Ensure final invoice is the same as estimate and vehicle is delivered on time. Act as liaison between customers and technicians and manages the status of work orders. Schedule service and repair appointments. Operate computerized work order systems. Complete other tasks, as required.

Skills Needed



Knowledge and understanding of market trends in the automotive service industry and mechanical components of automobiles OR an interest and willingness to learn the necessary trends and technical components. Comfortable in utilizing computer systems for most job duties. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Aptitude for building and maintaining interpersonal relationships. A collaborative, team oriented mindset. High attention to detail and the ability to plan and organize. Excellent problem solving and decision making skills. Valid driver's license for province of employment.
