We're a 25-person digital marketing agency with 20+ years of experience and 200+ clients across pool/spa, home builders, healthcare, and professional services. We build websites, run paid campaigns, and grow organic traffic--and we need someone who can own SEO for our clients.
The Role
Search is changing fast. Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity--the way people find answers is evolving, and so is how we optimize for it. We need an SEO Expert who can drive organic results today while preparing our clients for where search is headed in 2026 and beyond.
You'll manage SEO strategy and execution across our WordPress client sites, from technical audits to content optimization to performance improvements.
What you'll do:
Conduct technical SEO audits and implement fixes on WordPress sites
Optimize on-page elements: title tags, meta descriptions, headers, internal linking, schema markup
Develop content strategies that rank in traditional search AND get cited in AI-generated answers (AEO)
Improve Core Web Vitals and page speed performance
Set up and manage tracking via Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics
Build keyword strategies using SEMrush, Search Atlas, and other research tools
Monitor rankings, traffic, and conversions--then report results to clients and internal teams
Stay ahead of algorithm updates, AI search trends, and emerging optimization tactics
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
5+ years of hands-on SEO experience (agency experience strongly preferred)
Deep WordPress SEO knowledge--you've optimized sites, not just audited them
Proficiency with SEMrush, Search Atlas, Google Search Console, Google Analytics (GA4), and Google Tag Manager
Technical chops: site speed optimization, crawlability, structured data, Core Web Vitals
Understanding of Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)--how to structure content for AI Overviews, featured snippets, and LLM citations
Strong content optimization skills: you know how to turn okay content into content that ranks
Ability to manage multiple client accounts and prioritize effectively
Nice-to-haves:
Experience with Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, or similar crawling/analysis tools
Familiarity with WordPress performance plugins (WP Rocket, Perfmatters, etc.)
Background in local SEO and Google Business Profile optimization
Understanding of how SEO integrates with paid media and social strategies
