What is the Opportunity?

RBC Insurance is entering a new era of experience-led growth and the newly formed Digital & Data team is looking for someone to join us as a Senior Visual Designer. This individual will play a critical role in designing and refining visual design assets and elements for both our customer-facing digital channels and internal communications. As a core member of the design team, we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for someone who can strategically find opportunities to elevate the RBC Insurance brand while also being meticulously detail oriented. The ideal candidate will build on our internal and external branding guidelines and expertly weave iconography, typography, colour, space, and texture to improve our visual interfaces and outputs across experiences. This role will also support prototyping digital experiences for new experience concepts, working closely with CX design strategists and product designers.

What will you do?

• Expand and leverage our current brand guidelines to prepare and deliver assets for both internal and external communication
• Design assets for various digital channels including icons, illustrations, and animations
• Work within a close-knit design team on various projects to better the end-to-end experience for online customers, brokers, and advisors.
• Conceptualize and create digital marketing assets, including website design, digital publications, and other marketing material as needed
• Effectively rationalize and communicate your ideas and designs to the team and stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to reach clarity and alignment on small to large ideas to enhance our brand

What you will need to succeed

Must-Haves

• 5+ years of visual design experience or a similar role
• A portfolio that demonstrates your design skills and conceptual thinking
• Strong aesthetic skills, and a demonstrated understanding of core graphic design principles with respect to typography, layout/composition, grid systems, colour, photography, iconography, etc
• Proficiency in design tools such as: Figma, Procreate, Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign), or similar tools

Nice to haves

• Undergraduate degree in Design (e.g. advertising, interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial) or a related field or equivalent work experience
• Experience in video production and editing
