Senior Supply Chain Manager

Job Description


The successful candidate will focus on continuously improving the movement of the materials through various stages of the supply chain process. They will also demonstrate a strong customer service focus, ensuring that client needs are met, and vendor relationships are maintained. An understanding of Health Canada and cannabis industry regulations is an asset, but not required. A strong technical background is essential, as this individual will be responsible for the implementation and upkeep of software platforms related to inventory tracking and control.

Position Overview:

\xe2\x97\x8f To manage and monitor the physical flow of cannabis material through continuously improving processes and electronically with Ample Organics software and Dynamics 365

\xe2\x97\x8f Compile monthly reports to reconcile cannabis inventory levels for government reporting.

\xe2\x97\x8f Maintaining regular contact with white label partners to ensure they manage lead times and optimize the delivery of hardware and product-specific inventory to align with internal production schedules.

\xe2\x97\x8f Working closely with the procurement team to secure on-time delivery of key inputs.

\xe2\x97\x8f Maintain constant communication with internal production team to ensure inventory needs are aligned across entire organization.

\xe2\x97\x8f Ensure inventory management and reporting ties in with existing process structure and workflow.

\xe2\x97\x8f Monitor daily deliveries, shipments, and production to ensure inventory accuracy in real-time. Perform weekly analysis to predict potential inventory problems and determine solutions.

\xe2\x97\x8f Prepare detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments.

\xe2\x97\x8f Examine the levels of supplies and raw materials to determine shortages, and order new supplies to avoid inefficiencies or excessive surplus.

\xe2\x97\x8f Routinely analyze existing suppliers and obtain competitive quotes to drive cost-efficiencies.

People Management:

-Provide day-to-day oversight for direct reports in the department

-Approve, decline/manage absences of direct reports within company HRIS system

-Foster and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment to motivate staff

-Identify, track and report on progress against organizational key performance goals

-Collaborate with senior management to identify and allocate resources (people and equipment) based on business & operational priorities

-Identify and remove obstacles that prevent staff from accomplishing tasks

-Provide continuous performance feedback for direct reports through regular one-on-one meetings and/or dept meetings

-Conduct formal performance reviews for staff as per the schedule defined by Human Resources (2x per year)

-In conjunction with Department Manager/Director, deliver Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) and monitor accordingly

-Participate in the recruitment process to grow the department when required

-Manage the onboarding of new team members (identify training partner, provide training materials, etc)

-Proactively manage employee, process or equipment issues and escalating up as required

-Work with Supervisors and executive team to allocate resources (people & equipment) based on business & operational priorities

-Review, check and sign off on overtime hours of department staff

-With support from HR, manage the offboarding (termination) of associates

-Participate in interviews and advocate for additional resources need to grow specific department

Qualifications

\xe2\x97\x8f Post-secondary education required in Logistics, Inventory Management, Supply Chain, or another closely related field.

\xe2\x97\x8f 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a related role in a manufacturing-environment

\xe2\x97\x8f Strong technical skills, and 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working with cloud-based ERP / inventory control systems

\xe2\x97\x8f Self-starter who shows initiative and is comfortable in a high growth, startup environment

\xe2\x97\x8f 5+ years experience building, leading and managing a high-performance professional team

\xe2\x97\x8f Proven attention to detail, and ability to build repeatable processes / workflows

\xe2\x97\x8f Strong time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize based on business / production needs.

\xe2\x97\x8f Positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills

\xe2\x97\x8f Experience in cannabis industry preferred but not required

\xe2\x97\x8f Experience with Ample Organics and D365 software preferred but not required

\xe2\x97\x8f Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

\xe2\x97\x8f Required to pass criminal background check

\xe2\x97\x8f Daily travel to facility in Aylmer, Ontario required (valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license)
