Among the procurement duties supply chain managers are also responsible for outlining monthly, quarterly, or yearly quotas, improving the efficiency of supply operations, and managing interaction, correspondence and contact with suppliers. At Ensign, the Supply Chain Manager reports to the VP of Global Supply Chain in support of Five Distinct Divisions of our organization.RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESWork with senior operational and functional leadership to establish short and long-term procurement strategies and objectives.
Extensive knowledge of management of the flow of goods, data, and finances related to a product or service, from the procurement of raw materials to the delivery of the product at its destination.
Developing, advocating, and implementing sourcing and negotiation strategies for key spend areas aligned with organizational objectives and goals.
Analyzing, identifying, developing, and managing strategic business relationships to enable implementation of the corporate growth strategy, cost savings, and development of initiatives.
Knowledge of American Petroleum Institute (API) standards and API Q1 Specification for Quality Management System Requirements for Manufacturing a plus.
Managing a diverse team of individuals responsible for the efficient, and adequate supply of materials and services to all five business units. This also includes the coaching, mentoring, and ensuring Performance Development Plans (PDP) are completed regularly.
Create, support, and follow an SOP Model for the Supply Chain Team and influence suggestions for continuous improvement.
Planning and executing communications strategies to ensure an accurate and timely flow of information to internal customers and stakeholders, and externally to the supply markets.
Implementing strategies for Demand Management within the overall Supplier Performance Measurement and Management framework.
Partnering with the Legal department to prepare, review, and approve contracts to identify risks to limit liability and divide risk equitably.
Managing governance and control programs to ensure business continuity, protection of company assets, and compliance with corporate and regulatory policies.
Providing procurement management, coaching, and guidance to enhance delivery through broadening and deepening technical understanding of procurement practices throughout the company.
Audit procurement practices within the organization.
Handling complex and diverse customer, supplier, or operational issues where analysis of situation or data requires evaluating identifiable factors. And exercising judgment within defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Assessing, adjusting, and leading the bid evaluation process.
Evaluating supplier capabilities and establishing sources as dictated by business requirements.
Ensuring delivery of effective Contractor Performance Management.
Enhancing and managing functional supplier relationships with assigned critical/strategic contractors and suppliers to optimize financial and operational performance.
Facilitating development and implementing metrics, tools, processes, and systems to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and efficiencies; working collaboratively with team members to prioritize and drive timely implementation.
Understanding contractor marketplace opportunities and threats and managing them within the context of the business needs.
Continually challenging functional leadership around demand for goods and services and seek opportunities to reduce, rationalize, simplify, and aggregate to minimize total cost.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONSDegree in business or technical/science discipline.
10 years direct experience in Supply Chain Management:3 years must have been directly engaged in procurement activities related to drilling or oilfield services.
5 years must have been at the Manager level.Certification within a Professional Supply Chain organizationCertified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)Expert Contracting Skills.
Skills in all procurement processes, including strategic commodity management, supplier selection, procurement systems, process and procedure development, and acquisition integration.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, including writing, awarding, and administering professionally complex contracts.
Demonstrated continuous efforts and a successful record to improve project performances, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality, seamless client service.
International experience or exposure to a multicultural business environment.
