THE OPPORTUNITY

Galvion has a unique opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join our team. You will oversee all Supply Chain activities for Galvion\'s Armor Business Unit, primarily at our Newport, VT location. The Supply Chain Manager must be based in/near Newport, VT. If based in the U.S. (outside of Newport), Galvion will provide relocation assistance.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

You will lead Supply Chain operations for the Armor division, working closely with the team to develop the division\'s Sales, Inventory and Operations plans. In addition, you will be charged with overseeing and coaching the team responsible for the planning, scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, receiving and shipping activities for all facilities. In this leadership role, you will develop plans to create a culture of personal responsibility and continuous improvement within the team.

YOU WILL BE EVALUATED ON YOUR ABILITY TO

  • Manage and train Materials Supervisors, Planners, and other team members to enhance their job-specific and soft skills with the objective of continuous improvement in product cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Ensure all Supply Chain processes and transactions are integrated into the ERP (Syteline) while implementing and maintaining the MRP module with the support of the IT team.
  • Ensure all customer orders are fulfilled according to the agreed supply lead time.
  • Optimize inventory levels to prevent out of stock conditions while meeting customer order lead time.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures.
  • Develop material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
  • Establish and maintain metrics to measure performance against forecasts, scheduling, purchasing, inventory, on time delivery and any other pertinent metrics.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Bachelor level degree in Supply Chain or related discipline.
  • Significant, meaningful, and progressive experience in Supply Chain Management, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in planning, scheduling, purchasing, warehousing, inventory management, shipping, and receiving.
  • Detailed knowledge of at least one ERP system, Syteline experience preferred.
  • Experience in developing/implementing shop floor management systems such as JIT, Kanban.
  • Experience in ISO 9001 environments is a plus.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. legally (must be eligible for a TN visa).
